RE: Visits with RV.NET TC friends - do you get them?

We've just said goodbye to Collin, Leanne & Celeste (Collin) who spent the last couple of nights in our driveway on their way to Quadra Island. What fun we had! A couple of years ago we were happy to host Lyn, Doug & Berkeley the cat (Tripalot) for a night as they travelled down Vancouver Island. And in August 2006, Larry & Carol (Windwalker55) from Missouri joined us here on their way home from Alaska. The driveway sufficed for a couple of nights but then we got on so well that we ended up going camping together at our favourite local spot at Buttle Lake. The trout fishing was amazing & Carol makes the best cranberry scones for breakfast! We love making new friends through RV.Net & that "other" TC forum.
By the way, Anne & Joe, we really enjoyed your travel blog & pics of your journey west. Hope we might meet you someday. Maybe we'll make that big trip across the continent & come to Maine.

RE: Kayak(s) on the roof?

We too spent some time trying to figure out how to carry a kayak on the camper roof. After reading many positive posts here we purchased an Advanced Elements Advanced Frame Convertible kayak. Last week we took it up to Buttle Lake, our favourite local campground, & had a blast paddling all over for a couple of hours each day of the 5 we were there. We'd highly recommend this "boat-in-a-bag" to anyone who wants a stable craft that's easy to carry, inflate & deflate. The whole thing weighs less than 60 lbs. & fits easily in the club cab of the truck.

RE: Two Questions about Canada

Hey Lonnie & Hazel,
Yes we miss your rig there at Salmon Point with your Comanche Nation flag. It will be great to see you up here again next year. And you must come for dinner this time!

RE: Happy Anniversaries! When are yours?

5 years on July 15 & we're trying to figure out where we'll go camping to celebrate. Wherever that is, we'll be cooking a gourmet seafood dinner in the camper, setting the picnic table with flowers & candles, & enjoying a bottle of DH's fine homemade fruit wine. Second time around for both of us & we too met on the Internet! Life is good.

RE: Bye Bye Lance

Lynn & Doug,
Congrats on your new "home". But I think that once TCers, always TCers, at least in your hearts. I'm sure that Berkeley is really going to appreciate all that room & added corners to hide & sleep. Sure glad that your TC days led you to our driveway!
Enjoy the new big rig & we'll be looking forward to your posts of your new adventures.

RE: New route for me Hope/Lytton/Merritt/Princeton

Hi Trevor,
We've stayed at Skihist PP several times and have not found it to be at all noisy. Despite the closeness to the railway and highway, the park is built on a steep mountainside so that the campsites are far above the noise. I only remember hearing a train whistle far in the distance. Some of the campsites have breathtaking views over the Fraser River to the steep cliffs on the other side. It's a well-kept campground in a pine forest. You'll like it!
